20th Century Nostalgia: When We Were Kids

Remember The Good Old Days?

Endless days of summer, playing in the park until after dark then running home, only to get a belt from your dad for being 2 hours late in! That’s what nostalgia’s all about. We remember the summer, the games, the belting (not the actual pain, of course), the fun stuff… and that’s what WWWK is all about.

We’re collecting memories, referencing the nostalgic times gone by, from the 1990s right back to the 1940s to give nearly everyone a chance to fall into a world gone by, even if only for a few minutes at a time. Once you’re hooked, you’ll be back!

The Good Old Days

Music is always a popular thing to look back on and remember and what better way to start than browsing through our archives of UK Hit Singles...
Popular culture is where we look back on how the world’s changed over the years. From what were our favourite toys and games, how old money worked...
Saturday morning Matinees and screen idols of days gone by are all on offer in our Movies section, delving into a world of classic films and cinema.

Another popular section that’s getting bigger all the time is the Famous Quotations section where we’re collecting all the most memorable quotes we remember from when we were kids, with everyone from Winston Churchill to Groucho Marx…
Of course, there’s other great resources out there too which is why we have a web links section where we give you more information on where to go to look for more great nostalgic information and reference material for special projects...

And finally, how could I finish without mentioning the When We Were Kids Nostalgia forums, your opportunity to join in and share your favourite memories from when you were kids… or more often ask if anyone else can remember that really old TV show, you know the one… the theme tune went, “hmmmm, hmmm, hmm”.
